Although this is her sixsteps records debut, Christy Nockels is no nemcomer to CCM music. Serving over half a decade in the husband/wife duo Watermark, and being a prominent figure in the Passion tour with many other major artists, she has had plenty on experience playing and singing her music. So it seems, with all that experience, and the top-notch production from Nathan Nockels (yes, her husband) that this should be a solid disc. And it would be, except like so many other artists of her genre, nothing is new here. I mean, how many songs have the title "You Are Able", or "A Might Fortress." Both songs are solid, but lengthy listens, and could bore even hardcore fans halfway through. On top of all this, a near indentical version of Hillsong United's "Hosanna" doesn't help things much. And although this all sounds negetive, some tracks are worth a look. "No Not One", written previously recorded by Brandon Heath, is an upbeat pop/wroship tune, and is a pure example of her potential, while "Choose" is another stand-out, and brings out her nice mid-tempo side. So though this isn't great material, Christy could have a solo career ahead of her if she just sat down, and tried to find something new to say. ~ Christian Lingner
