Brandon Heath has a knack for writing
thoughtful, yet catchy pop tunes, the kind that everybody likes and does well on the radio. Taking everyday matters, he turns them into memerable, upbeat songs that develope this a rewarding 11-song collection.
The title track, "Don't Get Comfortable" is a perfect example of this, blending good material with a great sound, and creating listener friendly music that will capture his audience. Another stand-out, "Our God Reigns" takes a worship bend, with an astounding chorus and overwhelming lyrics, this track deservingly recieved a Dove Award nomination for Worship Song of the Year, and well as being the lead single for the album. Delving into a more acoustic field, "I'm Not Who I Was" is a nice, warm hearted piece about forgiveness and resur ection from an old life, while "Let's Make It Last" is a pure love song, singing "The way that we love/the way that we love/is something worth seeing/so let's make it last/let's make it last/. " Although some tracks are dry, there is still a lot of potential here, which we will most likely see on his next record. For now, he is still green and unseasoned, but Brandon will no doubt improve as time goes on, and could have lots of success in the future. ~ Christian Lingner
